Elevator Modernization in Islamabad: The Blue Area Retrofit Playbook
Government and corporate buildings in Islamabad's Blue Area are due for controller and drive modernization. Here's how Liftech does it without shaft replacement.

Why modernize instead of replace
Islamabad's Blue Area towers built in the 1990s–2000s often have sound hoistways, slings, guide rails and counterweight frames but obsolete relay-logic controllers, geared machines running above rated slip, and door operators past their design life. Modernization restores factory performance at 40–60% the cost and 15–25% the downtime of a full replacement.
What Liftech replaces
Monarch NICE 3000+ serial controller, Fuji Frenic Lift LM2A VVVF drive, Fermator or Wittur door operator, refreshed LED cabin, upgraded 3-phase ARD sized for 60-min standby, new safety gear and overspeed governor, plus 10 mm 8×19 Seale ropes. Optional: convert geared to gearless PMSM if overhead permits.
EN 81-20/50 recertification
After modernization the car is re-classified against current EN 81-20 with UCM protection, monitored door contacts, ARD and 125% static / 110% dynamic load test. A new PEC-registered engineer sign-off closes the compliance dossier.
How long it takes
Per car: 10–14 working days downtime with weekend commissioning to minimize tenant disruption. Multi-car towers are done one shaft at a time so at least one lift is always in service.
