Elevator Cabins
Stainless, hairline, mirror-etched and glass car interiors built to EN 81-20 car-wall strength.
In short
An elevator cabin is the enclosed car that carries passengers or goods inside the hoistway. It consists of a structural car frame and sling, a formed steel car shell, decorative wall cladding, ceiling, flooring, handrails and the car operating panel. Cabin construction is governed by EN 81-20 car-wall strength, ventilation and lighting requirements.
Engineering overview
Liftech Global supplies and installs complete elevator cabins for passenger, hospital, panoramic, capsule and freight applications. Car shells are formed from 1.2–1.5 mm cold-rolled steel with bolted corner posts, then clad in 0.8–1.2 mm SUS 304 hairline, mirror, etched or PVD-titanium coated stainless steel. Every car wall is verified against the EN 81-20 rigid-body test — 300 N applied over 5 cm² must not deflect the panel by more than 15 mm or leave permanent set above 1 mm.
Interiors are engineered as a system, not a finish: ceiling type sets the lux level and fan location, flooring build-up (granite, marble, PVC or SPC) is deducted from the car height so the finished clear height stays at 2 200–2 400 mm, and handrails, bumper rails and mirrors are anchored to the shell rather than the cladding so hospital trolleys and cargo trucks cannot loosen them.
Car weight matters as much as looks. A heavier decorative car raises the counterweight balance and can push the traction machine into the next frame size, so Liftech issues a car-weight schedule with every cabin quotation across Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad projects.
